Knowing the Bible is dedicated to expanding your understanding of the Bible by explaining concepts in their biblical, literary, and cultural contexts. The core of this website is twofold. In the Bible Studies section of the website you will find commentaries I have written on different books of the Bible and audio recordings of the Bible studies I lead. In the Bible Timeline section you will find an overview of the entire Bible with maps and diagrams. The goal of this section is to help readers see the major themes of the Bible and how they are developed to tell the story of Yahweh’s plan of redemption.
I am teaching a new class on Genesis on Monday nights from January 16 to April 3, 2017. Genesis was written in order to reveal the character of Yahweh to the family of Abraham whom He had chosen to restore back to the image of God so that He could bless them in a covenant relationship with Himself and that they would be blessing to the world.
This study will take you chronologically through the entire Bible, putting all the books together into one story. The goal is to give you an understanding of how all the events of the Bible, from Adam and Eve in Genesis to the new heaven and earth in Revelation, all fit together and develop Yahweh's plan of redemption. This study is 6 hours long (recorded in April 2016). This is worth 1 Bible CEU.
These are audio classes and notes on books of the Bible, which help you understand the cultural background and the literary structure of the Bible and, thus, the message behind those stories.
These are high quality Bible maps and charts that I created for anyone to download and use for free that cover all the major cities and stories through out the bible.
